Work with your group to practice the critical path method of scheduling
Draw the network diagram using the SmartArt tool in any Microsoft Office application
Follow the convention for drawing each node, allowing space for ES, EF, LS, LF and float
Identify all the paths in the schedule
Use the enumeration method to identify the critical path
Make a forward pass to find the early schedule dates
Make a backward pass to find the late schedule dates
Define the float for all activities
Activity | Predecessor | Duration |
A | none | 5 |
B | A | 8 |
C | B | 2 |
D | A | 17 |
E | B | 6 |
F | C, D, E | 10 |
G | F | 4 |
The critical path is thus A-D-F-G since the floats of each of these activities are zero. Total time of project completion = EF of 'G' = LF of 'G' = 36
