Discuss how differences between the American and British educational systems might have contributed to higher occupational and geographic mobility in the United States relative to Great Britain in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

If we compare the educational system of America and Britain, we will find a lot of differences in the system alone. Britain is more developed historically than America and the educational system which is still have impact is based on the system prevalent in 16th or 17 th centuries with minor modification.A basic difference between these two countries in educational system is bringing out the best in the student is main theme in US which is done through different test like Grade Point Average (GPA) system, a series of exams (SATs, GCSEs, A-Levels, university finals). In UK, the system is based on ensuring everyone meets the required standard with only regular exam and not rigorous.

These differences have created a different connotation of education and students also have different themes and motives in life due to the educational system.Due to this US society became more open and students and people from all across the world wanted to give their child and tehmselves better education if they study in US. Very less number of people prefered to study in UK and that too mostly in humanities filed.US emerge out as a best place to study science, medicine and management.
