Personal experience:

My husband and I have a very cordial relation and we do not fight at all. One day, he came back from office and looked very tense. I served the dinner and we started sharing on how the day went by. He was not talking much and neither listening to my stuff. I got annoyed and upset. I left the dinner in between and went to my room. When he came to room, I started shouting and fighting un-necessarily. We did not talk to each other that night.

Next morning, we got up and I found a note from husband. It mentioned that "He has been fired by the company". I felt really bad as I did not apply I critical thinking.

  • My husband is always joyful and happy. He was tensed, I should have asked the reason for him
  • On a very small issue of non-active listening, I over-reacted

So, from that point, I decided to be cautious and apply critical thinking in future
