Homework Answers

Answer #1

The Technology standards are reasonable regulatory approach to control automobile emissions as:

  • It is the tried and tested standard which will help to control the emission level and help government body know the maximum emission possible
  • It gives government body like traffic controller to confiscate and seize the vehicle not complying to technology standard
  • It makes it mandatory for manufacturer not to produce vehicle with outdated technology which is less environmental friendly
  • It helps to put limitation of vehicle use beyond a point as it becomes lesser environmental friendly. Example: In India, there is rule to use Bharat Stage 4 vehicles only and vehicle should not be more than 15 years old
