According to cooper when personal ethics conflict with organizational ethics the decision making process is not straightforward as not ethical decision-making process happens in the vacuum and a host of factors impact the final decisions that an individual can and should take.There are various considerations like:-

1. Taking into account the organizational setting in which the dilemma has occurred - This is because an organization can either promote ethical behavior or might try to impede it. So one must take into account the fact that whether the organization will support the action or try to stop it.So, the individual should behave in such a manner so as to garner as much support as possible for the cause. The individual should try to assess if the higher management would take responsibility and help to promote the ethical conduct.

2. Being mindful of the hierarchy, the organizational structure and the culture - Some organizations generally have multiple layers through which the information must pass which deters ethical conduct. So, an open and falt culture would make it easier to report in cases of conflict.

In cases of ethical dilemma, as it is best to use the golden rule which says:-   That you should of unto others as you would have them do unto you
