Product liability is nothing but the part of law which emphasize on the fact that the business is responsible for manufacturing or selling defective products.

Strict liability is nothing but the part of law where defendants whose activities are harmful or whose products are defective.

The difference between strict liability and product liability are: -

  • In strict liability, individual or entity who is harmful to other person is liable whereas in product liability, manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, retailers and other who making the product available to public is liable.
  • In strict liability, it is not required to prove the fault of other party whereas in product liabilty, the fault needs to be proved.
  • In strict liability is included in tort law, corporations law and criminal law whereas product liability is limited to tangible personal property.
