It helps in driving better negotiation rate with carriers on areas where they have strong presence and feel strength. Thus route optimisation in effect helps in developing strategy and enhance the service level capability. It also helps in reducing the cost of transportation and enhance the overall usage of fleet and service providers effectiveley ( through consolidation and right mode for the shipments)
