Answer #1

Sentiment analysis refers to identifying, extracting, and quantifying the contents of information by using statistics, machine learning in order to know the writer's attitude/feeling towards the writing. The key challenges in sentiment analysis are:

  • Complexity: Many writers/ people express their feeling in a complex manner that gets difficult to understand for a reader.
  • Recognition of named entity: Sometimes, it gets difficult to understand what exactly is the writer trying to say. For example, "Avatar" is a movie or a word in Hindi language.
  • Rhetorical items: If you don't have any idea about the writer, it gets difficult to understand sarcasm or irony.
  • Lack of correct grammer/ punctuation/ spelling: Twitter challenges
  • Conflicting states of speaker and writer's emotions: Emotional states of speaker and writer might differ, and when the speaker is saying those written things, it might imply something else.
