What are the major elements of critical path method?

What are the major elements of critical path method?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

There are four major elements of critical path method:

  • Critical Path Analysis: The critical path analysis deals with the sequence of activities with the longest duration. Ant delay with these activities will affect the delivery of the project.
  • Float Determination: Here the float is the amount of time an activity can sustain before it delays the project delivery.
  • Early Start & Early Finish Calculation: This step is called Forward Pass and is used to identify the earliest date an activity can start and the earliest date it can get over
  • Late Start & Late Finish Calculation: This step is called Backward Pass and is used to determine the latest date an activity can start and the latest date it can get over without causing any delay.
