Social media information system ( IS) is a platform where details of products and services can be shared with prospective and existing customers. It may be utilized to know the feedback of users about a particular product of an organization. I have worked with a local food chain in California . This local food chain utilized Twitter handle and a whatssapp enabled service point.

In terms of value chain analysis, This business has utilized primary set of activities mainly sales and marketing and after sales services to create a value in the marketplace. These social media platforms are utilizing by the customers for number of reasons like social networking, sharing their feelings, advertising campaigns by corporate organizations etc. In this way, we as an organization list our services offered and main products to attract the new customers as well as retaining to existing one. It happens with advertising campaigns and discounts offers.
