resistance to change can be stated as one of the biggest stumbling block for an organization, so resistance to change is just what it sounds and exist because people donot want to change. This resistance can be at employee and organization level. There can be multile reasons behind this behaviour -

At individual level -

  1. Economic : I am not willing to change due to economic reasons, which means it is going to cost me in terms of job security, skill obsolescence, a sense of fear for economic loss and could have reduced opportunity
  2. Psychological : something that is more mental state rather physical and include Ego defensiveness, status quo, fear of unknown, selective perception
  3. Social : something that exist is nearby or surrounding environment like social displacement, group resistance

ways individuals cope to organization change

  1. Once change is committed to happen an individual can opt a more feasible behaviour – get trained and prepare, try to be updated; by doing this you will find relevance in the changing paradigm
  2. Remain positive is again a mental behaviour and is crucial to control the changing landscape
