Your company recently sent you to a training workshop. The workshop was very useful and you would like to give a presentation to your colleagues about it. Write an email to your head of department. In your email:

• explain why the workshop was useful;

• say what your presentation will be about; and

• provide two (2) reasons why this presentation would interest your colleagues.

Dear Sir,

Trust this email finds you well.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you & the organisation for providing me with an opportunity to attend the training workshop last week. The workshop has helped me to get a deeper understanding of the operations and the skills required to perform the job. Overall I felt that the training will help me in the following areas:

• Economy & effectiveness in operation: Training provided insights on how we can increase productivity and reduce unnecessary damage to machinery and other types of equipment.
• Improvement in skills and understanding of the role which I am sure will help to give better results in future.
• This training will help me to handle most of the tasks without direct authority and guidance. Hence the supervisors can focus on other important areas.
• The overall morale and ownership of the goals have increased because of clarity on how to go about my work.

To make this more effective and share my knowledge I would request you to allow me a presentation with the team. The presentation will cover all aspects related to 1) New techniques and skills required to perform the job 2) Understanding of basic concepts and strategies of the organisation 3) Simulation which will help other team members practise the on-job skills in a custom environment.

I believe most of the team members want to increase their productivity and give better results and this presentation will surely help to further the cause. I also feel that my own experience will help motivate the employees to take such training seriously as it develops an understanding of the vision or goals of the organisation leading to commitment and also efficiency in the entire process.

I look forward to hearing from you & delivering this presentation in the coming week so that others can advantage from the opportunity which was given to me.
