We have learned that this waiting time model is only valid if the utilization is less than 100% (this means, on average, there is enough time to serve all customers). What happens to the waiting time if the utilization is greater than 100%?

If the utilisation is greater than 100% which means that the current system is over utilised and need more system/resources to meet the demand . Over 100% the waiting time will be directly proportional to the number of new entries or customers in the queue which can be optimised only through reducing the turn around time through operational efficiency and capabilities. Over utilised system will even results in infinite waiting period when the queue strength is going beyond the proprotional rate. Above 100% systems are more tend to be inefficient because of their lack of capability in meeting with the required actual demand.
