Consumer's attitude may be defined as their way of thinking or feeling about a particular brand or a retail store. It includes their beliefs, their feelings and their behavioural pattern towards that particular brand or company.Since, all the above mentioned factors are highly interlinked among each other,it is very essential to monitor them to increase the value of the company.

Payless Shoesource Inc. is one of the largest footweear retailer of U.S.Its headquarters is located in Dallas,Texas. Its mainly strategy is providing discounted footwear to the consumers. It became famous because of the Velcro Straps Snickers instead of the usual laces ones.

Consumer's attitude towards payless shoesource may be explained on the following basis:

1)Beliefs:A consumer may hold both positive and negative belief simultaneously. For instance, the snicker velcro straps are good but some may still think that it would be better if laces were provided. Some consusmers hold neutral belief which makes it difficult to create a marketing strategy.

2)Affect:Some consumers have a strong positive feeling for a brand inspite.Payless shoesource have gained such consumers which are loyal towards their brand due to their feelings towards it.

3)Behavioural pattern:This mostly depend on the life style of an individual. It is a logical consequence of their belief.

As Payless shoesource has managed to live upto the consumer's expectation and beliefs by providing discounted footwear, they are gaining competitive advantage over their counterfeiters as the percentage of consumers has rapidly increased over a period of time.
