Read this article concerning KFC closures in Pakistan due to Middle East uprisings. How will the supply chain of this franchise be affected by these events?

“What if” you were the supply chain manager for KFC and you had a shipment of food products ready to deliver in Pakistan but you are notified that they stores have been shut down and the inventory needs to be rerouted to different stores in nearby countries. What do you do? Are there any tools, or technology available to assist with your decision making?
As the situation has become worse and all the stores has shut down in Pakistan, shipment cannot be delivered to any stores. As a responsible supply chain manger, I would look for neighbour countries nearest locations of KFC so that inventory can be delivered at shortest time to other KFC stores. There are no such tool or technology that will assist me in this problem. I will contact all the neighbour stores managers and inform them about the situation and re-route all the inventory.
