What ethical challenges have you experienced? If you are not a public employee, do you think that the ethical challenges are different in a public organization?

Some of the major ethical challenges that I have experienced are:

• At times it becomes necessary to bribe people in the form of gifts to get the work done, although it is unethical but I had to do it and named the bribe as gifts from our organisation to move the papers smoothly.
• A task was done by my team member but being the manager I took the credit, this was an ethical dilemma that I faced wherein being the manager I took the credit and promotion.

Yes, I strongly feel that ethical challenges are very different in a public organisation as the impact would be much higher as the public domain is involved, various scenarios are there in the public domain which are not there in the private sector, the rules and regulations are also loosely defined and hence confirming to the ethics becomes even more important.
