If only 25% of Americans have a four-year college degree, why is there so much controversy over admissions and curricula?
I would like to address the admissions and the rules kept in 2 different views.
1. Each university has a standard set of cutoffs to get the best lot of students. And each has some predefined set of complied rules to follow the admission procedure. Eventhough the total seats are more compared to the students that are being applied., universities still wants to filter the best to continue the legacy of the college
2. Increased competition from foreign students, with the liberalization of study policy, the craze of Master in US havr immensely increased which paved way for the foreign students to opt for the best of the best universities, which indirectly causing a heavy competition for the US students too. To keep the competition and harmony at equal levels, Universities tighten their admission policy and curriculum.
I hope these two distinct points are suffice to the present Context. Do let me know, if you differ in above of the above mentioned. Would love to explain and discuss
