A. Yes, in my opinion marketing management could both be a science and an art. This is because there are various concepts in marketing management which if correctly followed can result in positive results. Also at other times, when nothing works out then something different approach needs to be innovated and can sometimes be useful for the organisation.

Yes, paying attention to a senior manager's gut feelings about what is happening in the marketplace is needed because senior manager has an idea about how to approach on any marketing idea and his/her gut feeling is often right due to experience.

B. Based on my research, general public is not much aware about Starbucks various initiatives that demonstrate social responsibility. Yes, in my opinion Starbucks must spend a % of their advertising budget to create awareness amongst those who don't visit their retail stores because in order to tap these potential customers, it is necessary for Starbucks to spend some portion of their advertising budget.
