#12 Create a new paragraph style for the "Contents: heading that is based on the Heading 1 style but that also includes Gray-50%, Accent 3 parapgraph shading, and the White, Background 1 font color.  

I'm not sure where to go to accomplish this?

Instructions to accomplish the mentioned task:

• Type Contents
• Select the word
• In the home ribbon, select the Heading 1
• Right click on Heading 1 and select modify
• From the left bottom of modify tab, click on format and select text effects
• Select gradient fill
• Select Gray-50%, by clicking on color
• For Paragraph shading select the paragraph and select Accent 3 color from colour tab
• In this way you can accomplish Contents: heading that is based on the Heading 1 style but that also includes Gray-50%, Accent 3 paragraph shading, and the White, Background 1 font color.
