Answer #1

Member dues funding will provide some special benefits to those who become members and pays the fees. In a workplace when such process is implemented , those workers who do not paythe dues are deprived of some rights and benefits which causes some dissatisfaction among the workers and hence they will get divided into groups. This will give rise to disputes and lack of coordination. Those who pay the dues feel superior and start ordering others. All these consequences are not healthy to the workplace and the relations of labor.

You are responsible for labor relations in your company. During heated labor negotiations, the General Secretary of your largest union exclaims, “Look, this company has $15 billion in assets, $7.5 billion in equity, and made a profit last year of $300 million—due largely, I might add, to the effort of union employees. So don’t tell me you can’t afford our wage demands.” How would you reply?
