Why is a schedule not a schedule until resources have been assigned? Provide example that illustrates your explanation.
Schedule can only be determined when you have assigned resources to the tasks of the project. In a perfect world/scenario ,you might not do that ,but in reality ,you need to assign resources to determine resource constraints which affect the schedule to determine the actual schedule.
For example : a project will take 10 days for 4 men to complete. Upon checking schedule ,you realize that 1 of your workers has a leave approved and won't be available ,which affects the schedule. There may be a scenario where an equipment fails ,and so on. Everything affects schedule and thus require to calculate schedule time.
