Explain how the hypothalamus of the brain controls the endocrine system.
The master switch board is the hypothalamus because it controls the endocrine system in the body. The endocrine system is mainly controlled by the releasing hormones produced by hypothalamus which regulate the release of the horomones from the pituitary gland which further affects the release of hormone from the other endocrine glands in the body. This is done by the detection of the increasing level of the hormones of target organ by the hypothalamus, which then sends the hormonal or electrical signals to the pituitary gland. In return the pituitary gland releases its hormone travelling through blood stream to the targeted endocrine gland, giving instructions to it for stopping the production of its hormones.
