Should journalists, print or television, favor the police or our military in their coverage of events that are, after all, about protecting the public ?
Protecting public is a relative term. While to some it may seem a protective action while to some it may be a defensive action. For e.g.: During a riot, action of army against the rioters may be about saving the common public but the rioters may consider it unfair (considering that the riot came from a peaceful protest for a valid cause). So, instead of favouring the military or police, the media person should be unbiased in their coverage of events and let the people decide about whose side they want to choose.
