Lighting is an essential part of any play in any theatre. It provides relevance to the play by emphasizing on time, place, mood and focus of the play. It helps the play direct its message to the audience.

Antigone is a play written by Sophocles and has been performed over the ages countless times. In the past, before the advent of modern technology, the play took place using natural lights. However in the future, (that is the present) the play is often modernized and uses new technologies. For example, the theatres can now use modern lighting systems in order to showcase the play to the audiences. Lighting systems such as PAR lights, Strip lights, Scoop lights and more can be used. These are all different forms of stage lights and would allow the play to focus on its key parts.
