Paid time off benefits are compensation employees receive when they are not actively working (Martocchio, 2014). I feel that a flexible work schedule is critical to recruit the best employees. Flexible scheduling allows employees to alter their workday start and finish times in order to help balance their work and family responsibilities. This schedule is especially beneficial to single parents, who need to care for their children in addition to working. Life doesn’t always go according to plan, so to have the ability to work flexible workdays without fear of losing your job or having to take time off would be extremely beneficial. I rank the different types of leave benefits listed in Figure 8.1 on p. 227 is as follows (most essential to least essential): 1) Paid Holidays; 2) Paid Vacation; 3) Paid Personal Leave 4) Paid Funeral Leave; 5) Paid Jury Duty Leave; 6) Paid Family leave; 7) Paid Military Leave.

Answer #1

Organizations today devise various methods and approaches to keep their workforce engaged and satisfied and paid time off benefits are one of them. In this case the employees are given paid leave by the organization when the amount of work is low in the organization and this is possible when the organization follows a flexible schedule of doing work because such a schedule is preferred by employees when there is work they have to stretch their work hours and cater to the needs of the organization and when the pressure of work is low, they can actually take leaves based on the same. Such flexible work culture is preferred by employees because they have the freedom to quite some extent in the process.
