You are at a job interview in a small start-up. You are interviewing for a manager position, one of only three in the organization. The organization has about 50 employees total. The interviewer tells you that they are concerned that the organization is not as innovative as it once was. They then ask you to discuss what you might do to change the culture so that employees can think it is okay to take risks in order to be even more innovative than the years prior to 2018. What suggestions would you provide? Make at least three and explain each.
Change culture to be innovative :-
Some suggestions I would like to make to change the culture of the organization so that it would be more innovative.
a. If I encourage and ask the employees to give me more ideas from their side then the employees may feel motivated to work more innovatively.
b. I have to make the employees to do more mistakes so that they can reduce their fear of doing mistakes. It would help them to come out of their comfort zone and think of new ideas for the company's sustainability.
c. By putting a small innovative team the employees may get inspired by seeing them innovate and execute new projects for the company.
d. I would make the workplace more flexible, open and informal by openly communicate with them regarding many ideas and opinions.
e. As innovation comes with many risks and uncertainties, so in that case, employees must be capable to handle risk. This would lead them to achieve perfect outcome.
