Under common law “doctor-patient confidentiality” was enacted to protect confidentiality in the health industry. This law covers all the information, medical records shared between doctors, patients and other medical staffs. The information of the patients cannot be revealed to third party without patient’s consent and doctors are considered just custodians of that information. Some exceptions are given to that law to tackle the medical emergencies.
