How would you characterize Chiquita’s historical approach to global management?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Chiquita’s historical approach to management was only focused on the bottom-line. There was no real implementation of management except on the corporate-level, andthose managers can be categorized as highly secretive and unaccountable. No one was held responsible for the bottom levels and this is why Chiquita was desperate for new management that would be highly transparent. Therefore, Chiquita turned itself around and developed better working relationships with its stakeholders. This was particularly present with their employees and the environment.
