Imagine if you are a lighting designer in the new "Antigone" Theatre. How would you set the lights for any of the characters during the show?
In the ‘Antigone’ theatrical play, each character has a value. As a lighting designer, I would first of all provide a narrow theatrical grid for the entire play to look like a room. Though the name of the theater is ‘Antigone’, the hero of the play is Kreon. He is the new King of Thebes, who has saved the city from the invaders. It is clearly demonstrated that that he is the person who would protect his subjects from any threat. However, Antigone alone speaks against him and this opposition is the catalyst of the ruin of Kreon. As the lighting designer, I would use accent lighting for the character Kreon. Accent lighting has a very concentrated light which makes the audience to eye the focal point. I would use recessed and spotlight for Antigone as she is the catalyst of the downfall of Kreon.
