Advancing Indigenous peoples and their economic development is seen by many companies as promoting reconciliation. They align corporate social responsibility strategies to Indigenous causes–maybe to impact social and economic growth in communities where they do business, or perhaps due to a sense of responsibility to contribute to the positive well-being of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. With these comments in mind, what kind of strategies would you recommend to your organization regarding training?
With focus on building an indigenous resource base, it is critical that these people trained to meet the global standards of the organisation. The critical elemnets would be the selection, training and the on job performance and satisfaction of the resource.
It is critical that the indegenious resources selected should be talented enough to fit the job role criteria, it is essential that these resources be treated at par with the other global counterparts. The training forms a critical role for the professional development of an employee, and hence it is critical that the same be taken in consideration. These people should be trained to fit the global standards of employee evaluation. The on job performance post training would play an important role in deciding the course of next employee development program.
