Discuss the reasons why a traditional supply chain has to be substantially modified in order to handle e-fulfillment.

Traditional supply chain cannot completely support the e commerce because the process of taking orders,producting and everything are done in a parallel manner in e commerce where it is done in a sequential manner in traditional supply chain.They lag in the process of order fulfillment which will be a problem in e commerce where deliveries are expected faster. Even the shipment radius increases when it comes to e commerce. Hence traditional supply chain cannot catch up with the speed of e commerce and therefore it needs to be modified according to the e fulfillment.
