Currently, aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus are
developing AI technologies that can replace pilots at the airline's
request to reduce labor costs. According to the plan, it will be
applied to cargo planes first in the 2030s and passenger planes in
the 2040s. If 20 years later this technology will be completed and
the pilot will be man-controlled as it is today, and the
sub-captain function will be replaced by an artificial intelligence
machine, then give us the view of whether passengers will use this
aircraft and why?
*No correct answer, but content is evaluated for fidelity.
In my view, if there would not be any alternative, then the passengers would not have any other option to use this aircraft, whether happily or reluctantly. However, if an option of fully man-controlled aircraft would be available, then I believe that passengers would rather prefer that instead of an aircraft with this concept. The very reason behind this that even though technology has been developed in many aspects and been used successfully in many industries, making life easier for both the companies and the customers, but in this case, its the matter of human lives, and no matter what, no one can claim of 100% success rate of the technology. And, that is why I believe that any industry which is related to human lives should rather refrain of any such acts which could risk the lives of people.
