Please explain and discuss can managers "fall prey to irrational exuberance and over-apply or mis-apply analytics"; Give one or more examples of analytics or metrics misuse.
Yes, in my opinion managers can fall prey to irrational exuberance and over-apply or mis-apply analytics because in order to carry on with the work requirements, managers sometimes neglect ethical aproach or make inappropriate use of analytics to gain access to information which should not be obtained as it is against data protection and privacy policy acts. However the managers do these activities in order to gain access to information for business purposes and fall prey. For example, managers in Uber have in the past engaged in obtaining and looking at information such as customer ride details, payment made, origin, destination details etc which are against Uber's privacy policy and should not be done except for legitimate business purposes. However there have been reports of data analytics misuse by Uber managers in the past which compromises the brand name of the company.
