What keeps companies from becoming integrated across the supply chain? Is it necessary to have supply chain activities integrated with all of your suppliers and customers.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Companies have their own goals and objectives. They sometimes do business with other companies or suppliers or customers and they become a part of the supply chain. But their goals and objectives might not match with this company always. They seperate after certain time and are replaced by new customers and suppliers. Hence companies do not integrate across the supply chain always. They only integrate with selected suppliers or customers who stay as a part of their business till the end. It is not always necessary to integrate the supply chain . It only increases the system and complicates it. We only need to provide best services as a part of business with them . Integration is not always necassary in a supply chain.
