An operation manager is a person who needs to look after all the production related functions and also other operations being carried in the organisation. They need to make sure that the organisation is functioning as per plan and sort out issues that are obstacles for this functioning. A general manager also has same responsibilites but a few more out of the zone of operations manager gets added. Hence an operation manager is well qualified for the post of general manager and can choose the post.
