Strategic decisions of OM include:

1. Quality of goods: We need to select the products with good quality and reasonable price. Every individual faces this situation in their life and work. Every business also faces this situation while purchasing raw material . We will be extra precautious while buying material than selling it.

2.Services to be done: We carefully plan the way a service is to be provided and also plan the options we can provide with those services. We generally plan a way we will work with a company and the period for which we are going to work for that company.

3.Location: The place where we are going to establish the entity plays a major role in determining the success or failure of that business. We often use this strategy while setting up our own business.

4.Layout: The structure of the business depending on the supplychain is designed and the layout is built accordingly. We use this strategy to build our business depending on the requirement.

5.Capacity: The capacity of the business and the amount of material that can be produced with efficiency is very important to be analysed.

6.Supply chain management: This is the most important strategy of operations management as it is the way a firm operates and it is to be planned perfectly to give best output.

7.Job design: Creating various departments and job positions depends on the size of the business and the requirement of that business.

8.Inventory: This is also an important factor considered for the storage of raw material and finished goods. We need to design the inventory depending onthe capacity of the business and the type of the product produced.

9.Scheduling the activites: We need to formulate a plan where we arrange the activities of supply chain in an order and schedule various orders as per the dispatch dates.

10: Maintenance: We need to know when to provide regular servicing to the equipment to prevent them from getting damaged.

We aplly all these strategies at one point or the other and these strategies help us through our work or business. We use mostly scheduling, job design, service evaluation, cost analysis and maintenance.
