What are the barriers to a more widespread application of RFID?

1) The costs involved- There are huge costs involved in installing RFID systems which is in itself a huge barrier.

2) Infrastructure problem- There is lack of infrastructure facilities available to install RFID systems. Most organisations are not keen to install RFID systems due to lack of infrastructure.

3) Resistance of staff- The staff of an organisation always resists the use of RFID systems. Though it is beneficial for the organisation but it always keeps eye on everything and this reduces job opportunities to some extent.

4) Lack of government support- Even the government is not ready to make the use of RFID's mandatory. This is also a barrier in installation of RFID systems.
