The scope of The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act has got limited success in international business ventures owing to its impact on international commerce which does not completely apply to the scope beyond the US borders. However, the International Anti-bribery Act or Anti-corruption Act has achieved some success in preventing corruption and bribery in international business ventures to some extent. But overall, iIt does not offer opportunity to the US Firms to invest in the international markets where the concerns regarding corruption and bribery is high. The mergers and acquisitions are prone to both, regulatory risk as well as that of the commercial risk on account of this Act.
