Homework Answers

Answer #1

Given Daily demands are

  • Corn Flakes: 1,110 CS
  • Frosted Flakes: 2,295 CS
  • Bran Flakes: 1,945 CS
  • Strawberry Flakes: 2,560 CS

Total Daily demand = 1100 +2295+1945+2560 =7910 CS

Capacity of assembly line for 24 hours = 12,675 CS

Time taken for production of daily demand of all four items = (7910/12675)*24 Hours =14.977 Hours = 14.98 Hours

However,

it is given time taken for set up for production individual item is 24 hours, That means for proudciton of theese four items it takes 4*24 hours for set up.

Hence the total set up time = 4*24 hours =96 Hours.

Cycle time is defeined as the time taken from the starting to the end of the prodcution of item.

If they run production in a cyclic schedule, what is the minimum cycle time in hours = Set up time + Production time

=4*24 hours +14.98 Hours

=110.98 Hours
