Operations function ensures that the process or project is being executed as per the plan. In case of any deviations, necessary steps are taken to bring the process back to it's original path and ensure the required output is achieved. Thus, ensuring the strategic objectives are achieved.

As for the supply chain management function, it ensures the required material and manpower is available as and when required by the firm. Ensuring the quality and reliability as well as cost optimizattion are the benefits of a good supply chain. Further, it too contributes towards achieving the strategic objectives by ensuring the execution of strategy is as per planning.
