Participative leadership involves allowing others in an organization to provide input and have some influence over the leader’s decisions. Why do you think some leaders have a difficult time empowering other members of the group and/or delegating tasks and decisions?
While participative leadership depends upon the contribution of the other subordinates in a better, smoother conduction process, the fact remains that there will always be some employees that are unmotivated, unhappy with their current position or function in the company. When an employee shows a certain degree of promise, it becomes easier for us to consider making a change in the structure to accommodate their needs in the decision-making process, we, therefore, end up bringing a better execution to the entire company's structure since it allows for a better throughput by the members. However, when an employee doesn't show promise, participative leadership style does not tend to work. This is why some leaders find it difficult while delegating the required tasks to the employees due to the fact that there is a minimum amount of interaction between them and this system.
