Leadership does not begin with the skills for moving others to action. Instead, leadership involves embarking on an “ inward and outward journey of self-reflection,” which inspires others to action. (Arkoubi, 2013, p. 3). Could a new leader “know” how to influence others if a person can not manage one’s behavior? What training would you suggest for new leaders?

It is very true that you can’t guide and inspire people unless you yourself is not following the same. In leadership, it is especially the case where a leader can’t teach and preach when he himself is not doing enough for the same thing.

Advise to the new leaders:

1. Show yourself as a role model by practicing and managing best values
2. First, manage yourself and then preach to the subordinate
3. Walk the talk along with the subordinate
4. Be disciplined if you want the team to be disciplined
5. Be humble, show gratitude to co-workers and peers.
6. Manage the team with integrity and passion
