There may be a number of reasons that can lead a criminal defendant to accept the plea bargain in a criminal case. There will be an opportunity to every dependent to consider the option of the plea bargain as there is a lot of pressure of cases on the justice system and thus the judges and prosecutors look for the option to end the case as soon as possible and plea bargain is one of such methods.

The main reasons for the plea bargain are given below=

Saving money. As the defendant has to hire the private counsel thus the proceeding of the case takes a lot of time and resources in the form of money and thus there may be a larger amount of money spent in the form of attorneys' fees. This money can be saved by accepting the plea bargain. For example- If a criminal has to defend the crime, the attorney will be hired who will charge for every case date, and thus if the case lasts for long, it will need a lot of money from the defendant.

Getting out of jail. In many cases, the defendant has to be in jail for a very long period of time as they may not have the qualification for the release or they do not have money to pay for the bail. Thus in these cases, the plea bargain is a good option.

Resolving the case faster. With the help of plea bargain, the case can be concluded early and thus it saves time and efforts and also release the pressure of undergoing the trial

Lesser offense record= When a defendant has a plea bargain, the charges imposed are relatively lesser thus the punishment can be lesser. For instance, if a murderer pleads guilty then his murder charges can be reduced to manslaughter

If we look in the trails of the many cases, there are so many evidence that proves that pressure and coercion are also applied by the law enforcement agency as they want to close the case as soon as possible and thus they put pressure on the defendant to accept the plea bargain

Rather than leaving the conviction depending on the innocence, there have been many incidents where the prosecution has offered the wrongly accused individual to accept the plead guilty deal that will reduce the sentence and allow the person to get free. In these examples, the plea facilitates the defendant to state their innocence while pleading guilty.

Knowling goes on to say about fear that once people know change is coming, 'you can cut it with a knife'. He implies this is normal as well, which I too agree. He then says that his way of 'dealing with it' is to tell people that they need to deal with the fear and not let it immobilize them into doing nothing. Again I agree with this statement, but I am not fully supportive of the notion that you...
