Could Cath Kidston have been successful as a design focused product marketer had it employed a low price strategy? Explain

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A low-priced strategy may act as a creative barrier to the design-focused product marketer company like Cath Kidston. A low-priced strategy will put a constraint on the creativity and hence the designs of the company will not be able to outshine each other. When a company’s business model works with the business objective of delivering design focused products, it is imperative that the company is given the leverage to think out of the box and is not bounded by any kind of rationality or constraint. Hence, in my views, Cath Kidston would not have been so famous, had it employed a low-priced strategy.
