With the onset of COVID-19 in our society, the healthcare system has experienced a surge of demand for personal protective equipment (PPE). PPE includes things like disposable masks, face shields, disposable gowns, disposable gloves, and so on.
The supply chain will be highly impacted because it will PPE will be in high demand and supply chain companies that provides equipment to the hospitals will be highly strained. It is important to mention that the COVID-19 pandemis has slowed down the movement of final products. Hence, the supply chain will face slow speed in the delivery of the equipment to hospitals.
The member of tghe supply chain can form additional support systems that will be able to tackle the surge in the demand for PPE. All the three different modes of transport can be used to ramp up the delivery of the PPE products.
