The advantages and disadvantages of having a more diverse workforce.

Ans. - The advantages are -

1> Increased creativity in work - In a diverse workplace, people come from different cultures, backgrounds, beliefs and they work together to achieve their target. So creativity is increased automatically as different thoughts are met in one place.

Example - In an organization, suppose they want to start a new process, then many employees will come with their different ideas and work together. as a result, the process will start in any situation in a creative way.

2> Increased productivity - The main advantage of the diverse workforce is globalization. As people of different countries work together and the productivity will increase automatically.

Example - People from Europe always try to find high-level jobs. So if they work with American people together then productivity will increase.

3> Increased services - A diverse workforce with different work experiences, knowledge, skills, cultures, languages helps a company to provide customer services all over the world.

The disadvantages of a diverse workforce -

1> Lack of communication - In a diverse workforce people are from different regions, cultures and their way of communication, languages are different. So there is a problem occurred to communicate properly.

Example - A Spanish-speaking person can speak with another person only who understands his/her culture and know his/her native language. But that person can't work with others for the lack of communications.

2> The training cost will increase - For this diverse workforce, every organization has to do many programs, seminars, lectures to make the work process understandable to all types of employees and they have to invest many for those. So the training cost increase for the hiring employees from different cultures.

3> Make a competition between employees - In a diverse workforce, a competition occurs between all employees to do work better and this is good. But for this competition many times people can't tolerate others who are from a different culture and as a result, there is a lack of collaboration occurs in the work.
