Our readings in chapter four describe five truthful communication corollaries (truthful communication; straw person fallacy; red herring strategy; etc.). Give an example of one of these corollaries
Example of a strawman fallacy:
Person 1: We should spend less on the military and allocate more funds for education
Person 2: Are you saying that we should leave the country without any defense?
This is a common example of a strawman argument when person 1 implied that the funds should be allocated to education and lower the expenditure on the military. However, person 2 makes an argument which is not something that person 1 holds as he did not imply to leave the nation defenseless.
