What is Facebook’s responsibility to its employees? As an employee of Facebook, do you think your company made a wise move in paying $1 billion for Instagram?

The responsibility of Facebook towards its employees lies in offering them growth and development opportunities. Opportunities will also allow their workers to trade in shares and stocks. Furthermore, it is Facebook's duty to ensure that its workers are happy at work by decent compensation programs. I think charging Instagram $1 billion was a smart step made by the company. Firstly , the company will expand its subscribers and customers. Thus, a higher profit margin would boost the company's revenues. The company will also be able to develop its brand in social media network.

For its first 8 years, Facebook, Inc., operated as a privately held corporation. The company had relatively few shareholders and had no obligation to report its financial results to the public or to regulators such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which allowed co-founder Mark Zuckerberg to focus his energy on building Facebook’s rapidly growing business. Just 6 years after its inception in Zuckerberg’s Harvard dorm room, Facebook’s user base surpassed the 500 million mark, and pressure mounted on...
