For social media marketing course:
Take some time to analyze your most common phone behaviors whether it be navigating the web, interacting with various applications, socializing, playing games, shopping, productivity etc. What are the activities that hold your interest the longest? What tactics are marketers using to infiltrate your personal space and capture your attention? Now imagine a day when you could not use your phone. List three problems companies would encounter if consumers left their phones at home for a week. Measure the gravity of that situation and how it might effect a company's revenue stream. Is it possible to revert to traditional marketing methods while sustaining an equal level of impact? So much to unpack here, what are your thoughts?
After analysing my behaviour I found out that I mostly use internet or online websites by checking content such as videos and information. These activities hold my interest for the longest. I have seen applications and other online portals providing advertisement on the basis of my technological interest. Does I am usually searching for technology and related devices over the internet, the service providers are providing me advertisement regarding the same products.
The main problem which I feel if I left my phone behind at home is the problem regarding booking a cab or paying for the general services. As I use phone based wallet for the payments, companies would be facing a great problem in taking payments I would have no source of payment as the main payment wallet is integrated in my phone. If I would leave my phone at home and other problem would be a loss for the companies as they would not be able to provide me push notifications as I enter any establishment regarding their specific brand. Unavailability of the information for the comparison of the product in the respective market would create hesitation for me to buy a specific product rather than waiting for my phone to be available for searching for a requested information.
Traditional marketing methods are still influential but implementation of digital as well as advanced technology has decreased it availability of opportunities in the respective environment. As humans are consistently moving towards a structure where technology is the main key driver of marketing influence, using only the traditional mediums can create huge trouble for the organisation as it would not be as effective as using an approach in which both type of the systems are used efficiently.
