If you want to launch online business to sell food products produced by different companies, and you decide to implement a supply chain management system (SCMS) to operate your business. Explain how your business will benefit from the implemented SCMS, and explain which supply chain management model will you use for your online business and why?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The benefits of an integrated supply chain management system (SCMS) to a business are as follows:

· Overall collaboration of resources associated with the company becomes smooth and more accurate

· The company will be able to cater to the demands of the customers in an effective manner

· The supply chain of the company can be optimized and made flexible with the help of SCMS

· Risk mitigation as well as quality control of the company’s offerings can be done quite comprehensively

In my views, demand in online business is quite random and fluctuating. In such a scenario, an agile supply chain management model will be quite effective. The agile SCMS will be able to perceive the changing needs of the customers and markets and adapt the business to facilitate the same. This way, the business concept of online business will get supported by agile supply chain business model.
